Book review-15

This week, I read "The Last of the Mohicans" written by James Fenimor Cooper.

he wrote the six "Leather stocking Tales", about Indians and white men. The Last of the Mohicans(1826) was the fifth of these six books.

In The Last of the Mohicans, Cooper writes about the fight between the French and the British in North America in 1757.

The story is also about the fight between white men and Indians.

Cooper wanted women to like his book, so, he wrote about love too.

I learned about "The Last of the Mohicans" in introduction of american literature's class.

So, I'm interested in "The Last of the Mohicans", and I read.

I recommend to read this book. Because in this book, written about love, fight, and friendship.

Today 12/20/2006

Today, I woke up at 8:00 this morning. I have classes from 9:00 to 14:30.
So, I was very hurry to go to school.
Today, I have a part-time job from 17:00 to 23:00. My boss give me 30 minutes rest time.
Today is Youme Town day. So, point is 5 times than usual.
I think many customer come to Youme Town Hamasen.
Today will be a rough day at school and work. But I'll do my best.

Last Friday

I knitted a woolen scarf. I took knit this a month.
I will give this woolen scarf 12/27.
Because my boyfriend and I will meet this day.
I'm looking forward to come 12/27.

Book review-14

This week, I read "The Ransom of Red Chief" written by O. Henry and retold by Paul Shipton.
This book's main charactor are Bill and Sam.
Bill and Sam want to a lot of money and they have money only 200 dollars.
Then, they kidnapped Johnny who Mrs. Ebenezer Dorset's son.
Bill, Sam and Johnny stay in a cave, and they are become friends.
They played in a forest.Bill and sam send a threatening letter for Mrs. Ebenezer.
Mrs. Ebenezer send them a letter. And kidnapp's end is failure. They lost them money.
This book is very interesting. I want to read more.

Ghost!!

Yesterday, I met ghost in my house. I didn't see the ghost, but I feel ghost's exist.
I'm very surprised and I'm scary. My waist and joints ache since yesterday.

Book review-13

This week I read "Romeo and Juliet" written by William Shakespeare. This book is level 3 of 6 about Penguin readers.
"Romeo and Juliet" is one of the most famous love storys in the world.
I learn about "Romeo and Juliet" in my class of English letertures.
So, I know about story of "Romeo and Juliet"
This story is not happy end, but I like this story.
shakespeare's beaytiful tale, for example "Romeo and Juliet", is still as popular as it was more than 400 years.

Last Monday

I met with my boyfriend. I had classes till 16:10, so I went home early.
We went to Home center Sanko, and I bought a lot of things. then, we went to Mt. Kinpo to see night view.
We can see Uto, Kumamoto port, Kawachi, and Nagasaki very near.
I'm very surprise because if we go to from Uto to kawachi by a car, it took long time, but from Mt. Kinpo, we can see from uto to Kawachi point-blank.
Night view was very beautiful. If you have chance, please go to Mt. Kinpo.

Book review-12

this week, I read "CALIFORNIA" written by John escott.
Americans call california 'The gold state'. Because California has gold and silver in the mountains.
So, there is Golden gate bridge.
In California, there is China Town. By 1850 there were about 4,000 chinese people living in San Francisco, to work in the gold mines, and to build the railway.
There are many parks. for example, Yosemite Nation Park, and Kings canyon National Park.
These parks has a lot of nature.
In California, there is The Hollywood sign and disney land.
I want to go to California and want to see the Hollywood sign and Golden Gate Bridge, and want to visit Disney land.

November 29th

Yesterday, I had 3 classes. From 10:40 to 17:50. Then I worked as a part time from 18:30 to 22:30. I was very tired.
I knited a woolen scarf for Christmas present to my boyfriend.
I have a month till Christmas, so I want to knit hard.

I read "Flight" written by Michael Dean.
In this book, writes about People and birds, Ballons and and parachutes, Gliders, Helicopters and Flying boats, and Airplanes.
I had riden airplane a few times. So I want to ride airplane and Helicopters a lot.

I read "U.F.O.s" written by Helen Brooke. In this book, writes about aliens arrive, U.F.O.s, U.F.O.s and Hollywood, and so on.
My father and mother had seen UFO. The UFO goes Mt.Kinpo's sky.
When I finished reading this book, I want to watch UFO, ET, and aliens.

I read "Robin Hood" written by John Escott. Illustrared by Bob Harvey and Pennant Inc.
Robin is a brave man, and his country's king's brother want to kill him. He become friends many people and he fight with king's brother.
Robin fight for everything that is good and rights. robin married Lady Marian. It is happy end.

Yesterday

I had 4 classes. Yesterday's class began at 9:00, and finished at 17:50.
Then, I went back home at 18:16. From 18:40, I met my boyfriend and went to Uto city for shopping. I bought sweets rubber, and alcohol.
Then, we went to eat dinner.
I want to go out with him a lot.

Book review-8

This week, I read "Little Women" written by Louisa May Alcott.
This book is level 1 of penguin readers. "Little Women" is about the four girls. They have happy times, but they have problems too.
Louisa May Alcott(1832-88) came from Pennsylvania, in the United States. She has three sisters. The problems of the marches in "Little Women(1868)" were problems in Louisa's family too. Jo's story is Louisa's story.
This book has a few picture of Little women's movie. So we can imagine scene.
Louisa wrotes if we don't have enough money, but we have a lot of friends or love, we can become happy person.

Recently

Yesterday I caught a cold, and I had headache. I felt a chill. So, I was absent from school.
I took rest and relax. I caught cold twice a month.
My management of condition was bad, so I caught a cold, I think.
Everyone, please be careful to not catch a cold!

November 12

The day before yesterday, I went to Mt. hanaoka with my boyfriend.
We went to eat dinner, and went to there to see night view.
Many couples came here. Night view was very beautiful, and we had very romantic time. I want to go there again.

Book review 7

This week, I read "Mission Apollo" written by Lewis Kerr. I had seen "Apollo 11" in my high school day's English class. And in this book, writes about all apolo, and the Shuttle.
The chinese first made rockets a thousand years ago. they used them in their battles against the Mongols.
There is the Cold War in the background space shuttle's development.
Many American space shuttle went to moon. But January 27, 1967 was the worst day in the Apollo program. Virgil Grissom, Edward white and roger Chaffee was Saturn 5's astronauts.
They had got a fire, and they died.
The Apollo program was important, because it showed that people could leave the earth and discover the secret of other worlds.
I read this book, I want to go to moon. Then I want to say, "After all, the earth is blue".

Essay-3 Kumamoto

There is a lot of places for sightseeing and foods in Kumamoto. Kumamoto castle, Mt. Aso, horse raw meat and mustard lotus root are especially very famous. It goes without saying that everyone knows them in Kumamoto. And they are also popular for foreigners or people who live in other prefectures. You really have seen many tourists at Kumamoto castle or Mt. Aso, we think. This time we introduce some things of Kumamoto except them.

First, we recommend Kikuchi valley. Many sightseers comes here. In Kikuchi valley, we can hear the murmur of a river and birds ' song. Kikuchi valley is important cultural property of Japan. There are many nature, trees, water, fresh air and so on. Kikuchi valley is cool, so this place is the best place for keeping ourselves cool. When I (Narumi) went to there, I thought Kikuchi valley is a healing place.

Next, we introduce night view spot. We think Inorinooka-park is good place for its beautiful night view. You can get a fine view of the city or suburbs of Kumamoto from there. The view is really beautiful! We recommend you to go to Inorinooka-park on a date. It must produce a romantic atmosphere! Inorinooka-park is one of the most famous spot for night view in Kumamoto prefecture. Actually, we have never been to there, so we'd like to go someday.

Do you like eating? You know horse raw meat, mustard lotus root or Jindaiko is famous and popular food in Kumamoto. And there is many unique foods in Kumamoto, too. One of them, rush ice-cream cone is very nice. Rush is a special product of Yatsushiro. Do you know it ? The color of the ice-cream is light green, and it's with a little flavor of tatami. You can eat it at product shop in Sencho. There is a rush and green tea ice-cream cone, too. You can eat it at the way station in Ryuhoku. I (Kazune) have eaten it, and then kazune felt it was cool and delicious. If you have never eaten it, why don't you try once? (Product shop in Sencho)

Kumamoto is very interesting. We love Kumamoto. And we still have not known everything of Kumamoto yet. In future, we are going to find unique things of Kumamoto more. If we have a chance, we'd like to go to the sights and eat foods of Kumamoto with overseas students, too. While we make a boast of Kumamoto to many people, we have to protect its beautiful nature.

Today is November 8th. School festival was over.
I don't belong to club. So, I didn't go to takumasai.
In my office (youme town) , a new person comes. She is junior in this university.
She is very earnest and sticker, so I expect she will become good cashier.
I teach her everyday. I'm very happy, because I could met her.

Book review 6

This week, I read "Six Sketches" written by Leslie Dunkling.
This book is Penguin reader's book. This book has 7 contents.
These contents are very short stories, so we can read quickly. These stories are conversational style. These contents are "I'm Right!", "A Good story", "Cheese!", "A Good Match", "Wedding Day", and "The English Teacher".
I like "I'm Right!", "Cheese!" and "The English Teacher". These stories are very interesting. "I'm Right!" 's character are married couple and ticket inspector. The couple are on a train and here comes the ticket inspector. They look for their ticket and show them. She says "I'm right, always", but they got wrong train. I think it is not good to have confidence too much.

Yesterday

Today is October 25, 2006. Yesterday I had classes but I didn't have part time job.
So, I studied about power words in University's library.Then, I finished my assignment.
When I went home, my bicycle chain was triped. I was very sad and ashamed.
But I repaired it. I think I can do everything if I did.

Book review-5

This week, I read "King Arthur" written by Axel rator. I know the name of King Arthur from my introduction of English literture's class and history of English literture's class; but I don't know about King Arthur.
This story is the year 650 in England. One night, merlin the magician has a dream, he dreamed wonderful king. His name is Athur.
Merlin makes a magic stone, and puts a sword. Arthur can pull out the sword, and he became king of England.
Arthur was young man. Then Merlin teaches everyday, and after 4 years he is a strong and good king. Since Arthur become King, in England has no battle. But when he has trouble about his wife and others, in England started battle.
I read this book, I know about King Arthur. I want to read "King Arthur" written by shakespear, too.

Yesterday

I met to my boyfriend. I went to Diamond city for shopping.
I bought some cloths. I'm very happy.
My boyfriend gave me DVD player. Because my birthday plesent.
I watched Lead and w-inds.'s DVD today.
I'm very happy, too.
From now, I'll go to part time job.

Book review-4

This week, I read "TITANIC". This is Oxford Bookworms Factfiles. I didn't know about Titanic, and haven't　watched movie of Titanic. But I read this book, I know about Titanic a little.
Titanc is the biggest ship in the world. It was made in 1912, 24900 tons. It could go at 46 kilometres an hour. So, it was one of the fastest ship in the world, too.
Titanic hits the iceberg in the North Atlantic in the night. The Titanic had twenty lifeboats, and its could carry 1178 people; but there were 2207 people on the ship. So, many people were died.
In 1995, James Cameron made Hollywood film about Titanic. It was very expensive- it cost $ 200 million. For his film he made a ship, nearly as big as the real Titanic.
When I finished reading this book, I'm interested in Titanic and its movie. I want to watch Titanic's movie at no distant date.

Book review 3

This week, I read "Orca" written by Mark Foster and Phillip burrows. It is Oxford University Press' book. This story is Tonya and her friends' voyage. They decided to sail around the world with small ship. One day, they meet a big fishing boat in the sea. It's net hurted an orca -a killer whale. And her friend, Jack, helped the orca. After they move away from the killer whales they meet storm. Then Tonya was thrown out into sea. Then other people search for Tonya, but didn't find out. So, they arrived on beach. At that time, Tonya floated in the sea. Suddenly, she hears something different. It is killer whales. But they don't eat Tonya. They bring Tonya to the shore. Then, Tonya and her firends meet again.
I moved this story. I think if we do do something action, the action returns my self. I want to something good for around people.

Essay 2 -kumamoto-

I live in Kumamoto for 20 years. Kumamoto has many nature, for example, water, sea, mountains, trees, and so on. I love Kumamoto. I want to teach you about Kumamoto.

I went to Kikuchi valley and Ryuumon dam this summer vacation. In Kikuchi valley, many sightseer came there. Kikuchi valley is important cultural property of Japan. We can walk beside river, where is mountain path.　On the next day, I had muscular pain.
Ryumon dam is located near Kikuchi valley. There's mascot is dragon. Lake is very broad, and there are fishing places, and campsite.

　I went to many place in Kumamoto. Mt. Aso, Mt.Kinpou, Misumi's flower island, Lake Ezu, Source Shirakawa and Todoroki, and so on.
But I have a lot of places where i haven't go until now.
So, I want to go a lot of places I have never gone.

October 11th

My birthday is October 9th. So, I'm 20 years old now. My birthday, I didn't rest time because I had a part time job.
But today, I don't have part time job. So, I want to go Karaoke♪
I drinking everynight since I became 20 years old. I drunk wine and liqueur only.
so I want to be a strong drinker and drink many kinds of alcohol.

Today is my absent day! I don't have classes, and part time job.
I'm very happy today (^-^)
But tomorrow, I have a part time job, and point is 5 times! So, many customer will come shopping. tomorrow will busy.
October 9th is my birthday☆ I will become 20 years old.
I want to come 10/9 fast.

Essay 1 -movie-

I watched "My Fair Lady". This movie is an adaptation of "Pygmalion". "Pygmalion" is an English movie, and "My Fair Lady" is an American movie. I watched " Pygmalion" in my English literature introduction's class.
"My Fair Lady"'s main character is Audrey Hepburn. "My Fair Lady"'s story is good. Main character is poor , and her father is problem drinker. She work as flower girl, then that money are taken by her father. It's very pity. Then she lives with doctor of linguistics. She practice about pronunciation and etiquette and so on, and shi is admored to proper royal prince.
But she and doctor are fall in love.
Audrey Hepburn is very cute. And this movie is a musical film. so, intimate.
This story's content is a little difficult, but I watched pleasantly.
If you have a chance, please watch this.

Book review 2

This week, I read "The Gift of the Magi and Other stories" written by O. Henry.

This book has 5 stories. I read all of these stories, then I interested in "The Gift of the Magi".
This story is Christmas story.
This story's character are Mr. and Mrs. James. They are no rich, but they are happy.
Mr. James has a gold watch, and his wife has long beautiful hair.
Mrs. James think she give her husband chain of gold watch.
She sell her hair at 20 cent. Then she buy chain by that money.
On the Christmas day, she gave her husband the chain but he was sad, because she doesn't have long hair. He bought two expensive comb from money of sold watch.
I think this story tought me important thing is heart, and not money or gift.

Yesterday

Yesterday was Sunday, October 1st, 2006. Yesterday was Youme Town day!!
So, point was 5 times than usually. Many people came to shopping Youme Town Hamasen.
I worked from 15:00 to 23:00. I was very tired.
But I bought popcorn, supplement, body soap, and so on. Then I got credit deposit ticket.
I'm very happy.
Today, I will work from 18:00 to 22:30. Today is busy too.

Book review 1

This week, I read "Mike's Lucky Day".
Mike, who is a main charactor of this story, is a student and assistant of carrier.
One day, Mike and van driver, Bill, go to Mr Morgan's shop. They take boxes from the van and go into the shop. Mr Morgan's daughter, Jennifer, is always in there. Hardly he saw her, he fall in love with her at first sight. Then, he looks forward to meet her. And he invite her to watch movies.
On the very day of date, Mike forgot wallet in his house. So, he can't go out with her. Jennifer and her father got angry about Mike didn't come.
Mike calls Jennifer. He and she meet at coffee shop, and make up a quarrel.
I think this story is good. because this story ends with happy end.
I impressed his positive action for his love.
